The rule is very top-of-mind when you’re working cross-border between Canada and the U.S., so this article caught our attention. It’s a quick read.

Interesting or inspiring articles (perhaps a bit of both) … | We cut our teeth in the intersecting worlds of marketing promotions and commercial printing, so this story on Pantone caught our eye. It’s a history about the most iconic colour system in the world. The standard for colour reaches far beyond the printing world to iconic brands as well as fashion. It’s become so popular, the familiar look of the Pantone chip is now being copied.

Interesting or inspiring articles (perhaps a bit of both) … | Don’t we take design for granted? It’s so engrained in our culture, we sometimes don’t notice it at all. This article is a great read which breaks down design into its simplest term: “Using colours, letters and pictures to help people understand things.” I couldn’t help but notice that this designer has also battled the ongoing assumption from non-designers that designers simply “make things pretty.”
